GOVINDRAM VARMA CHARITABLE TRUST

Anand Pain relief and Rehabilitation Institute is a hospital that aims to provide quality healthcare to its patients. This concerns the well being of the society as a whole including the financially backward. With this goal in mind, "Govindram Varma Charitable Trust" came into existence on 19th April, 1999. Several objectives were kept in mind during the establishment of this trust.

Main Objective

During the establishment of this trust, it was felt that prioritizing the need for the provision of free consultation and treatment to the needy strata of the society was of utmost importance. Hence this issue outlined the formation of the trust.

Children are the pride of not just the family they are born into, but as they grow up into healthy adults, they shoulder the responsibility of an entire nation! A healthy, disease free childhood is a gift that every parent dreams of providing his child with. However, some children may be less fortunate than others with regards to health. For such physically and mentally challenged children, timely diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation can go a long way in improving their chances at a normal, healthy life. With this novel thought in mind, we decided to hold "Special Clinics" for the 'Special Child' (physically and mentally challenged).

Other Objectives

  • Provision of health education & creating awareness about communicable and preventable diseases
  • Creating awareness about Medical Acupuncture and Rehabilitation
  • Establishment of the institute as a Research centre by conducting evidence based research
  • Initiation, maintenance and assistance in relief measures in areas affected by natural calamities such as flood, earthquake, draught, famine, cyclone, epidemics etc.
  • Assistance and donation of funds to other institutions & organizations having similar objectives
  • In our constant quest to recognize and motivate interesting and original scientific research work, the "Govindram Varma Memorial Best Paper Award" was instituted for free papers. This award was established during the 9th National Acupuncture conference, i.e., "ACUCON 2000" at Hubli by the Govindram Varma Charitable Trust. We hope to not only promote acupuncture but also encourage participants to carry forward with their work. It was decided that this award shall be given during every national conference of the Acupuncture Association of India (A. A.I) to the first author of the BEST free paper

Free Services Offered

For the have-nots we offer free services through Govindram Varma Charitable Trust, which arranges free consultation and acupuncture treatment at Anand Pain Relief & Rehabilitation Institute every Tuesday. Kindly make use of this service for your poor & needy patients.

The setting up of this trust is a small but positive attempt from our side at shouldering the healthcare responsibilities of the socially underprivileged sections of the society, hoping to build a stronger, healthier tomorrow!
